I came to CrossFit Louisville in July 2012 looking for my next athletic endeavor. I had played field hockey from the 6th grade until I followed that passion to a full-ride scholarship at a Division 1 University. After finishing my education and coaching at the collegiate level for a year, I returned to Louisville with a competitive drive and a need to get back into shape. I first joined the running scene, and although I committed and ran several races, I did not particularly enjoy it. I had heard of CrossFit and thought maybe this would be a better fit for me. I researched CrossFits in Louisville and when I walked into CrossFit Louisville for my On-Ramp, I knew this was where I wanted to call home.  After some movement evaluation, Ben wisely discerned my propensity for moving heavy weight up and down, and after a short discussion, Ben encouraged and invited me to join Bluegrass Barbell and train the Olympic style lifts. Now, 35 pounds lighter, 10 meets, several PRs and many friends later, I train the olympic lifts full-time and am currently training in the hopes to make it to Olympic Lifting Nationals and the American Open.

I am a passionate and encouraging coach and I love the opportunity to bring out the inner athlete in the members. My favorite quote and the best related to life, sports and training is “be a little better everyday” and I aim to do so.
